The aim of this lecture is to discuss children and young people’s use of media – from the cell phone to the Internet. Furthermore, lecture intends to contribute to the adding of knowledge about who they are, how they are feeling about themselves and each other – and about the grown-ups being part of their lives – from parents to professional educationalists and welfare workers.

Thomas Illum Hansen, ph.d., er lærebogsforfatter og leder af Læremiddel.dk, videncenter for læremidler. Centret er et partnerskab mellem University College Lillebælt, University College Sjælland og University College Syd.

Evaluation of educational material

What is good educational material? The answer is depending on the purpose of the educational material and of the context in which it is to be used. The lecture suggests how to analyze and evaluate educational materials by means of different theories and perspectives – depending on the concrete context of use.

“Hvilken historie bor vi i?”
Ja, det spørgsmål er måske ikke så enkelt at finde svar på, men vi er allesammen nødt til at må finde vores eget. Og for at kunne fortælle sig selv frem, så andre kan se, hvem vi er, har vi brug for historier – masser af historier! Forfatteren fortæller om sit arbejde med “ur-fortællingen”, og hvordan hun bruger det i sit litterære arbejde.

Josefine Ottesen f.1956 er en af Danmarks mest anerkendte og bedst sælgende børne-og ungdomsforfatter. Hun har et bredt forfatterskab bag sig med ca. 70 titler, der fordeler sig på billedbøger,letlæsning,højtlæsning og større romaner i genren “Fantastiske Fortællinger”. Hun har modtaget en række nationale priser og har i flere omgange været indstillet internationalt.

This question may not be a simple thing to answer, but we all have to find our own story. And to be able to tell it, in order to make other people see who we are, we need stories – lots of stories! The author tells about her work with “the original story”, and explains how she uses it in her literary work.

Josefine Ottesen is one of Denmark’s most popular authors of books for children and young people, in terms of both enjoyment and sales. She is the author of about 70 books covering various genres. The many national awards and international nominations she has received, covering several different works, testify to her broad appeal and popularity.

Nordisk skolebogskonference 2009 – 12.-15. august i Århus

Nordic School Book Conference 2009 – August 12-15 in Aarhus, Denmark

Velkommen til den 11. Nordiske Skolebogskonference arrangeret af den danske forlæggerforenings Sektion for Undervisningsforlag (SFU). Konferencen afholdes i Jylland i Danmarks næststørste by Århus – også kaldet smilets by. Byen har en lang historie, smukke kvarterer og et levende miljø.

Vi skal bo i byens centrum, men der vil også være mulighed for at opleve det jyske landskab og den fine, gamle by Ebeltoft.

Konferencens faglige program foregår i Musikhuset Århus, der ligger centralt i byen. Huset er ramme for et væld af aktiviteter: konferencer, musik, dans, teater m.m.
I år vil skolebogskonferencen sætte fokus på skoleelevernes livsverden, det gode undervisningsmiddel, faglig formidling og læsning. Som noget nyt har vi introduceret, at hvert deltagerland informerer om tre vigtige tendenser på skolebogsområdet.

Vi glæder os til at se jer alle, høre indslag fra hele Norden og møde nye og gamle venner i branchen.

Welcome to the 11th Nordic School Book Conference organized by the Danish Publishers Associations’ Section for educational publishers (SFU). The conference will take place in Jutland in Denmark’s second largest city, Aarhus – also known as the city of smile. The city has a long history, beautiful quarters and a vivid atmosphere.

We will be staying in the centre of the city but our programme also includes a trip through the Jutlandic landscape and a visit to the idyllic, old town Ebeltoft.

The conference takes place in the centrally located Concert Hall Aarhus. The Concert Hall forms the framework for a number of activities, among other things conferences, music, dance, and theatre.
This year the School Book Conference will focus on the pupil’s lifeworld, good educational materials, and educational communication and reading. As a new feature at the conference we have introduced that participants from each country are going to inform about three important tendencies in educational publishing.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all, new and old friends in the business.
